Petra Kvitova is back in training following an attack that left her with a career-threatening hand injury.
The two-time Wimbledon champion, who was stabbed in the hand during a robbery at her home in December, posted a picture on Instagram of her hitting for the first time in Monaco.
“I hope this picture makes you as happy as it makes me!” She wrote in the post. “I am in Monaco and guess what? I’m back on the tennis court, hitting with some proper balls.”
Following the attack it was announced that Kvitova would be out of the game for at least six months. However, after intensive rehabilitation she revealed that she had accepted entry for Roland Garros, which starts on May 28.
If Kvitova is unable to compete in Roland Garros, the news seems to confirm that the 27 year-old will compete at Wimbledon in July.
