Roger Federer is viewing his rehabilitation as ‘the beginning of something very special’.

Roger Federer sees his injury rehabilitation as the ‘beginning of something very special’ in his career. Speaking at the launch of the Laver Cup a few weeks back, Federer reflected on his rehab, and what it means for his career.

“My recovery is going well, I’m quite happy. It could always be a little bit better but right now I’m not in a hurry – it needs to be good in three to four months.

“I have plenty of time, I’ve had no setbacks yet and I hope it’s going to stay this way.”

Federer, who recently posted a picture of himself striding around the Swiss Alps, was keen to stress the opportunities the injury affords him.

“The goal is to be healthy when I come back to Hopman Cup in 2017 and then the Australian Open,” Federer continued.

“I’m excited about what is to come – this isn’t the end of something, but the beginning of something very special and hopefully another few special years on Tour.
