Madison Keys and Sloane Stephens are great friends.
We’ve seen it for years, from their amusing interview – where Stephens was the journalist, Keys the player – at Charleston in 2017 to their emotional hug after their US Open final six months later.
So, prior to their exhibition match at the ATP Newport tournament, their friendship was put to the test.

Playing a “friends edition” of the Newlywed Game, Keys and Stephens were asked questions about the other before writing their answers on a whiteboard and seeing if they matched.
Madison’s favourite emoji? Sloane’s most hated conditioning exercise? Which player inspired Sloane? Which music is Madison most likely to be listening to?
“This is terrible. Actually we’re not friends, we’re just faking it guys. We don’t know anything about each other,” laughed Stephens after another incorrect answer.
It’s safe to say Keys performed better. She also went on to win the exhibition match, too.
