Invigorated Sharapova ready for 2018

Former world No.1 Maria Sharapova is beginning her 2018 season in the Chinese city of Shenzhen.

Competing at the International-level tournament for the first time in her career, Sharapova told the WTA she was embracing the opportunity to experience a new city.

“It’s always invigorating to start a year that way,” the Russian said.

World No.1 Simona Halep headlines the field in Shenzhen.
