Hot shots! A WTA tweener? Oh yes

For some reason WTA tweeners are rare as hens teeth. That’s why, when Daria Kasatkina nailed this one during her match with Roberta Vinci, the interweb whipped itself into a frenzy. Truth be told it’s one heck of a shot, and the fact that it’s a clean winner makes it all the more impressive.

Daria might have missed the July ‘Shot of the Month’ competition, but given the quality – or lack thereof – of the shots the WTA camera crew usually capture, she’s a shoe-in for August.
