Tomas Berdych has become the latest big name player to withdraw from the Olympics due to fears over the Zika virus.

Tomas Berdych is the latest big name player to pull out of the Olympics because of fears over the Zika virus. The World No.8 joined Milos Raonic and Simona Halep, who announced their withdrawals over the weekend, in citing concerns over the virus as the reason for their withdrawal.

In a message posted on Facebook, Berdych said:

It is yet another blow to tennis at the Olympics, that has already seen a number of top male players withdraw due to scheduling conflicts. Dominic Thiem, John Isner and Bernie Tomic have all chosen to play ATP events during the week of the Olympics, while Nick Kyrgios withdrew because of a dispute with the Australian Olympic Committee.
