Serena Williams delivered an emotional speech at the Indian Wells trophy presentation on Sunday, thanking them for their support.
Williams, who fell in the women’s singles final to Victoria Azarenka, choked up as she referenced her unpleasant memories of her last Indian Wells final appearance in 2001 and how much it meant to her to hear resounding cheers 15 years later.
Even Azarenka became emotional as Williams delivered heart-felt thanks to the 16,000 fans in attendance.
