Season 2018: Who is playing where in week one?

It’s not technically 2018 yet, but the new season has already begun and we could not be more excited.

The first week is jam-packed with WTA and ATP tournaments, as well as the Mastercard Hopman Cup and other exhibition events. After a long off-season with little tennis action, there’s almost too much to follow. To make it easy, we’ve listed where all the top 10 players are competing this week to keep you up-to-date.

Venus Williams is the only top 10 player not competing this week, opting to begin her season in Sydney next week instead.

Her sister Serena (now ranked No.22) makes her first competitive appearance since becoming a mother in September when she takes on French Open champion and world No.7 Jelena Ostapenko in an Abu Dhabi exhibition.

Four of the world’s top eight-ranked men are competing at the Hopman Cup this week, including world No.2 Roger Federer.

World No.1 Rafael Nadal had entered Brisbane, but withdrew from the tournament to continue his recovery from a knee injury. Three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka is also struggling in his return from knee surgery, withdrawing from the Abu Dhabi exhibition event.
