Andy Murray has announced on his official website that he and Ivan Lendl have ended their second stint together as player and coach.

For the second time, Andy Murray and Ivan Lendl will go their separate ways.

Murray, the former world No.1 and three-time major champion, announced on his official website that he and Lendl – whose relationship spawned many similar high-profile player-coach partnerships – would no longer be working together.

“I’m thankful to Ivan for all his help and guidance over the years, we’ve had great success and learned a lot as a team,” Murray said.

“My focus now is on getting ready for Australia with the team I have in place and getting back to competing.”

Added Lendl: “I wish Andy well going forward. We had a great run and a lot of fun.”

The Brit and the Czech first linked up in 2012, a breakthrough season for Murray during which he won gold at the London Olympics and then the US Open title – his first major trophy after four defeats in finals.

He added the Wimbledon 2013 title to his collection before splitting with Lendl in March 2014 and linking up with Amelie Mauresmo.

Murray and Lendl reunited in June 2016 ahead of Wimbledon, which Murray won for his third Grand Slam title.

Having been sidelined since Wimbledon this year due to a hip injury, Murray said that he would continue to build his fitness throughout a training block in Miami before turning his attention to the Australian summer, beginning with the Brisbane International.
