Paris Jack Sock has booked the last place into the eight-man ATP Finals by winning the Paris Masters.

He defeated Serbian qualifier Filip Krajinovic 5-7 6-4 6-1 on Sunday, notching nine aces and breaking six times.

Sock became the first American to win a Masters title since Andy Roddick in Miami seven years go.

“There have been a lot of firsts. It started at the French Open with my first fourth round of a Slam, now I’ve won my first Masters 1000 in Paris, this will be my first time in the Top 10 and this will be the first time making the year-end Finals,” Sock said.

“So there’s a lot going on right now emotionally and I can’t wait to enjoy it all with my team.

“Incredible week. Hard to describe, honestly. I don’t think it’s really hit or soaked in yet. But yeah, to come back from the deficit I was down in my first round, my first match here, and to have this trophy next to me now and talking to you guys has been an incredible achievement.”

Sock had trailed Kyle Edmund in his opening match 5-1 in the third set before storming back to win.

After that came victories over 17th seed Lucas Pouille and veterans Fernando Verdasco and Julien Benneteau.

The 16th-seeded Sock claimed the fourth trophy of his career, third this season and the first at the Masters 1000 level as he constructed a comeback victory in just under two hours.

He joins a field at the season-ending event in London headed by Rafael Nadal, who however withdrew prior to a Paris quarterfinals with a knee injury and who could be doubtful for the year-ender.

Roger Federer, Alexander Zverev, Dominic Thiem, Marin Cilic, Grigor Dimitrov and David Goffin complete the London line-up.
