Six of the eight spots in the WTA Finals field have been snapped up, with Caroline Wozniacki the latest star to qualify.

Caroline Wozniacki has added her name to the list of stars bound for Singapore, qualifying for the WTA Finals for the fifth time.

The Dane, ranked sixth, joins Garbine Muguruza, Simona Halep, Elina Svitolina, Karolina Pliskova and Venus Williams at the season-ending championships.

Wozniacki has enjoyed a stellar 2017 season, reaching seven WTA finals and winning the most recent of those in Tokyo. She’d previously been 0-6 in 2017 finals, but despite that has won a tour-leading 53 matches this year.

“I’m very excited that I’ve qualified for the WTA Finals again,” Wozniacki said.

“I have such great memories of the tournament, especially from 2010 (when she reached the final), and I can’t wait to get to back to Singapore and play my best tennis in front of the amazing fans there.”

Two spots remain to be filled in the elite eight-player field; seventh-placed Jelena Ostapenko and No.8 Johanna Konta look set to clinch them, both well clear in the Race to Singapore ahead of floundering ninth-placed Frenchwoman Kristina Mladenovic.

Sloane Stephens, the US Open champion, is in 12th place.
