Which two tennis players would make for the most awkward date? Which two actors would play Roger and Rafa in a film? Who’s the 2017 press conference MVP? Tennismash staff writers Matt Trollope, Vivienne Christie and Bede Briscomb have you covered with all the answers to these profusely burning questions in this week’s edition of The Snap.

Trollope: Roger & Rafa’s resurgence has been incredible. And if not for them, this would be one of the more forgettable ATP seasons in history.
Christie: The Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer revival year. #OldSchool #SettingtheStandard
Briscomb: Probably the most romantic year in the sport’s history while simultaneously highlighting the dark Fedal-less days that await.
Trollope: Still some maddening inconsistency, but there’s a core of top players settling into their positions and producing some excellent contests.
Christie: From comeback queens to rising stars, established champs and breakthrough winners, there’s never been such a sense of anything-is-possible.
Briscomb: Unpredictability and credibility are mutually exclusive in the world of tennis. Come back SW, tennis needs you.
Trollope: Let’s go Bond themed – the suave style of Daniel Craig for Federer, and the Spanish allure of Javier Bardem for Nadal.
Christie: Federer himself nominated Leo Di Caprio – and you don’t argue with Roger. Not sure anybody has the required intensity to replicate Rafa but let’s go with Jake Gyllenhaal.
Briscomb: Michiel Huisman (Roger) and Gael García Bernal (Rafa) are my picks, but you’re probably not going to get a lot of butts on seats.

Christie: Serena to a reporter questioning a “scrappy” AO2017 second-round win over Lucie Safarova: “You should have been out there. That wasn’t very kind. You should apologise. Do you want to apologise?” They did.
Briscomb:
The involuntary sounds he makes from .20-.29 gets me every time.
Trollope: Dominic Thiem and Carla Suarez Navarro.
Christie: Maria Sharapova and Grigor Dimitrov. That’s Grand Slam-level awkward.
Briscomb: Gilles Muller and Sloane Stephens.
