The Tennis Integrity Uni (TIU) has confirmed that they are looking into the match between Alexandr Dolgopolov and Thiago Monteiro at the Winston-Salem Open.
A spokesperson for the TIU told Reuters that they were assessing the match because of irregular betting patterns in the build-up to – and during – the match itself. A number of bookmakers stopped taking bets on the match in the lead-up to it.

According to reports, despite Dolgopolov being the heavy favourite going into the first round, an unexpectedly large amount of money was placed on Monteiro in the hours before the first round match. Monteiro, ranked 114 in the world, beat world No.55 Dolgopolov 6-3 6-3 in just 55 minutes.
The TIU said that it had been “made aware of concerns over betting patterns during the match.
“As with all match alerts, the TIU will assess, make a judgement and take appropriate action on the information received through its co-operative agreements with betting operators.”
