Garbine Muguruza’s star continues to rise, with the Spaniard appearing on Chelsea Handler’s Netflix-screened talk show Chelsea.
The two-time major champion, who recently won Wimbledon, chatted with the American comedian about what it was like to face Venus and Serena Williams in Grand Slam finals and how she celebrated winning the biggest title in tennis.
“You won Wimbledon, you gotta go out and celebrate!” Handler exclaimed.
“I know,” Muguruza laughed. “I went to a Spanish restaurant, had some fun. But you know what? I was exhausted. I did so many interviews, the match, the tension, the nerves. I’m like, don’t bother me, just leave me alone (laughter). And then, with the time, I went out a little bit. But I will (celebrate more). I need time. Every day I will a little bit.”
Muguruza will next week return to action at the WTA tournament in Stanford as she begins her build-up to the US Open.
