Magdalena Rybarikova’s Wimbledon run came to an end on Thursday when she ran into the unstoppable force that is Garbine Muguruza.
Muguruza won their semifinal 6-1 6-1 in a touch over an hour to reach her second Wimbledon final.
Rybarikova, the world No.87 who has stunned Karolina Pliskova and CoCo Vandeweghe in a dream run to the last four, could only tip her hat to the Spaniard’s performance.
“I have to say Garbi was playing amazing match,” the Slovak said in her post-match press conference.
“I mean I never saw her playing that well. And even I played against her and she never played that good. And it was very difficult for me.
“Obviously I was a little bit nervous in the beginning and she was playing very fast – she had depth so long, and I could not do almost anything today.
“It was not my best day but she didn’t give me a chance to do something.”
