Victoria Azarenka has announced that she plans to play at Wimbledon. The former world No.1, who has been out of the game for nearly a year after giving birth to her first son in December, made the announcement on social media this morning.

It is a welcome announcement from the 27 year-old, who had originally been targeting a return in the US hard court swing. The two-time Wimbledon semifinalist made a brief return from injury at the start of 2016, before surprising the tennis would by announcing that she was pregnant.

If Azarenka does compete, it could be the first time that we see Azarenka, Sharapova and Kvitova playing at the same tournament in over 18 months.
