Report: Grosjean set to coach Kyrgios

Nick Kyrgios hopes to commence the 2017 clay season in Estoril.
According to a report in the French media, former top 10 star Sebastien Grosjean is set to accompany Nick Kyrgios on tour on a part-time basis with a focus on important events.

Nick Kyrgios might finally have a coach again, on a part-time basis at least, in the form of former world No.4 Frenchman Sebastien Grosjean.

A report in French sports newspaper L’Equipe said the Frenchman could be working with Kyrgios this week in Rome.

Grosjean last coached fellow Frenchman Richard Gasquet from 2014 up until the end of 2016 and it’s understood he doesn’t want a full-time coaching role due to the travel schedule.

However the opportunity to coach the talented Kyrgios on a part-time basis appears to have piqued the Frenchman’s interest.

Grosjean re-tweeted a French journalist who said that the four-time Grand Slam semifinalist had been working with Kyrgios since February and will now accompany him at important tournaments.

Kyrgios has gone without a coach for the last two years on tour and recently dealt with a hip injury in Madrid before being humbled 6-3 6-1 by Rafael Nadal in the third round.

Kyrgios is slated to face Spanish world No.21 Roberto Bautista-Agut in the first round in Rome.
