Upsets in second round action at the Volvo Car Open in Charleston today has thrown the draw wide open.

American Shelby Rogers eliminated top seed Madison Keys 4-6 6-1 6-1, wrapping up victory in 96 minutes.

German Laura Siegemund battled past third seed Venus Williams in a three hour marathon, scoring a 6-4 6-7(3) 7-5 win. The world No.37 saved two match points to record her first victory against the American veteran.

The early exits from Keys and Williams opens the door for Dane Caroline Wozniacki to make a top 10 return. Wozniacki, the tournament’s fourth seed whose scheduled second round match against German Annika Beck was washed out, can return to the top 10 with a deep run on the green clay.

Indian Wells champion and last year’s runner-up Elena Vesnina is also out. Hungarian qualifier Fanny Stollar stunned the fourth seed 7-6(7) 7-6(3), with the world No.282 firing 13 aces and saving 15 break points in a career-best result.
