Kristina Mladenovic has announced that Caroline Garcia has decided to end their doubles partnership. In a short announcement on Twitter, Mladenovic said that Garcia: “informed me of her desire to put an end to our partnership in doubles to focus on her singles career”.

It is the end of one of the most successful doubles pairings of recent years. Together, Mladenovic and Garcia won the 2016 French Open doubles title, and were runners-up at the US Open. The pair also anchored the French at the Fed Cup, losing the deciding rubber in the 2016 final.
However, 2017 was less successful with the pair going out in the Australian Open semifinals, and the second round of Dubai.
Despite a successful start to the year in singles, Mladenovic has confirmed that she has no plans to quit doubles. “As far as I am concerned, I will continue to play doubles in the near future and will announce the name of my new partner very soon,” she concluded in her message.
