Serena challenges random fans to a hit

Imagine: you’re having a nice quiet hit with your mate on a Sunday night and one of the greatest tennis players of all time asks if she can join in. Sound improbable? Well, that’s because it is. But it’s not an impossibility, as two players discovered the other night.

While out walking with her dog, Chip, Serena Williams decided to drop in on a couple of guys she saw playing in the park. She didn’t have her tennis kit, she didn’t even have her racquets, but she did fancy a game:

‘I’m just out for a stroll at night and I’m thinking about asking these guys if I could hit… just to see their reaction,’ Serena says in the video.

Needless to say, the guys were pretty excited at having the opportunity to play with the 23 time Major winner.

‘I’m still undefeated,’ Serena said after the match. ‘And the moral of the story is that you never know when I’ll be coming to a tennis court near you.’
