Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina will make her world top-10 debut next week after claiming the biggest title of her career at the Dubai Duty Free Championships.
The in-form Ukrainian defeated Caroline Wozniacki 6-4 6-2 to make it 12 victories in a row.
Svitolina, 22, will climb from 13th in the rankings on the back of her run in the desert, which included a semi-final victory over top seed Angelique Kerber.
She has been one of the form players on the tour since last summer and made it back-to-back titles after lifting the trophy in Taipei earlier this month.
Svitolina simply had too much power for Wozniacki, who had to make do with a second consecutive runner-up trophy after losing to Karolina Pliskova in Doha last weekend.
