Players have voted for their favourite tour events to determine the ATP and WTA Tournaments of the Year.
Indian Wells was voted by both the men and women for the third consecutive year as the best Masters/Premier Mandatory-level tournament in the world.
“As a player, I can understand why (Indian Wells) has been named Tournament of the Year on the ATP World Tour for the third consecutive year,” said tournament director Tommy Haas.
“Now as a member of the Indian Wells team, I have even more respect for the countless hours of planning and dedication that the entire staff contributes to make the BNP Paribas Open one of the best sporting events in the world. We remain focused on improving the event every year and hope to make the 2017 edition even more memorable.”
Queen’s was voted as the best tournament in its category by the men for the fourth straight year; in 2013 and 2014 it won the ATP 250 category before being elevated to 500 status and winning the past two years in that category.
On the women’s side, Stuttgart was voted as the best tournament in its category for the third straight year, while Acapulco, Auckland and Bastad – all International-level events – have also won three years running.
According to a WTA media release, these women’s events “have received recognition from WTA players due to the excellence of their staff and organisation, passionate fans, dedication to the sport and its athletes and much more.”
