Life on tour: the social round-up

Published by Tennismash

What has been happening on social media in the tennis world?

Life on tour has it ups and downs, as the professionals like to share on their social media channels…

It can mean early flights, as Jo-Wilfried Tsonga knows all about:

Or long bus rides between tournaments, just as Monica Puig does:

Players such as Rafael Nadal and Diego Schwartzman spend long hours on the practice court:

Fan support is an upside of tour life – and Christina McHale is getting plenty in Beijing:

Speaking of doubles, the WTA Finals field is now finalised – and features two new (and excited) faces in Julia Goerges and Karolina Pliskova:

Recovery is a part of the game too, as Petra Kvitova knows:

There is also chances to dress up like Caroline Wozniacki enjoys:

Tennis players, such as Kristina Mladenovic, need a lot of sleep:

Messy hair don’t care ???????? good night Beijing ??

Off-court they do fun video shoots, like Genie Bouchard did with Diet Coke:

Back to tennis news, and the full Hopman Cup 2017 field has been unveiled. Defending champions Nick Kyrgios and Daria Gavrilova are back – and are very excited about it:

Court No.1 is looking very different at Wimbledon:

And British player Emily Webley-Smith has had better days:

Our lives are made up of a series of small decisions that lead to our actions and in turn we become the consequences of our choices. On Saturday I poured boiling water into a glass bowl to inhale steam to help a chesty cough and the bowl exploded burning my legs. They say that God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers. I am not one of them. After seven surgeries, a DVT, septacemia, dengue fever, two stress fractures and ten cortisone injections, I thought I was pretty tough. In peak physical condition and the happiest I’ve ever been I thought anything was possible. In the last few days I have found out that I am not as brave as I thought as I was. I have felt fear that I could not control, shock that I could not understand, searing pain that I could not tolerate, and vanity that I could not accept. All that is left now is character. And the deepest respect to all of those who have been burned far worse than I have and who deal with it everyday. To the people around me who are giving me their love, support, and courage when I run out of my own, thankyou. Even warriors need a little help sometimes.
