From best hot shot to best meltdown, these are the awards from Wimbledon that really matter.

The chalk dust has settled, the cheques have been cashed, and Wimbledon is done and dusted for another year. But aside from Andy Murray and Serena Williams, who really captured the attention? These are the Wimbledon ‘Best’ awards…

Best history maker: Serena Williams
It’s got to be, right? Serena Williams notched up her seventh Wimbledon crown, and 22nd Grand Slam title to equal Steffi Graf’s open era record.

An honourable mention to: Roger Federer. 307 Grand Slam wins took his past Martina Navratilova’s record.

Best upset: Sam Querrey
Who else?

Best hot shot: Nick Kyrgios
This is just… amazing

An honourable mention to: Milos Raonic

Best meltdown: Viktor Troicki
This one doesn’t need an explanation, it just needs to be watched…

Best win that nearly wasn’t a win: Anastasia Potapova
If at first you don’t succeed, try and try again. That’s what Anastasia Potapova had to do when she thought she had won the girls’ singles title not once, not twice, but three times…

Best fairytale story: Marcus Willis
It’s hard to argue against this one. The world No.775 not only came through pre-qualifying and qualifying, he downed Ri?ardas Berankis in the first round before going on to face Roger Federer in the second round. If that doesn’t say fairytale, nothing does:

Best surprise package: Elena Vesnina
She’s been on the comeback trail for a few months now, but nobody expected Elena Vesnina to smash her way into the Wimbledon semifinals. She did, and then got smashed out of the tournament by Serena Williams.

Best weird video: The BBC
This is just… odd

Best weird question: To Andy Murray
How does it feel to be the saviour of mankind?
