Former world No.1 doubles pair Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci will reunite to represent Italy at the Rio Olympic Games.
The duo are one of only five partnerships to win a career women’s doubles Grand Slam, having netted the Australian Open in 2013-14, French Open in 2012, Wimbledon in 2014 and US Open in 2012 during a successful five-year partnership.
After winning 22 WTA titles together and being named the WTA doubles team of the year three times, the pair split in early 2015, reportedly in acrimonious circumstances.
Both attended the wedding of Fed Cup teammate Flavia Pennetta to fellow Italian player Fabio Fognini on the weekend and have agreed to a reunion to chase Olympic gold.

It was speculated Pennetta was considering a doubles comeback at the Rio Olympic Games to partner either Errani or Vinci, had they decided not to play together.
However the decision of Italian’s most successful ever team to reunite, means it looks unlikely reigning US Open champion Pennetta will return.
The International Tennis Federation will announce full Olympic fields at the end of the month.
