2015 China Open - Day 5

Former world No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki and rising star Belinda Bencic have withdrawn from the French Open.

The 34th-ranked Wozniacki has a right ankle injury, which has kept her off court since the Miami Open in March. This is the first time the Dane has missed a Grand Slam event since making her debut at the French Open in 2007, snapping a 36-tournament streak.

Bencic, the world No.8, has a back injury. The 19-year-old Swiss talent won the French Open junior girls’ singles title in 2013.

The draw for the French Open will be made on Friday, with main draw play beginning on Sunday.
