Tomas Berdych has announced that he is going to split from coach Daniel Vallverdu.

Tomas Berdych has announced on social media that he’s splitting with coach Daniel Vallverdu. The pair had been working together for the past 18 months.

The announcement comes after Berdych’s 6-0 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Belgian David Goffin in The Internazionali BNL d’Italia 2016. It was the latest result in a sub-par season for the Czech, who is 19-10 i

In a short statement released on Facebook Berdych’s team said:

Tomáš Berdych quit his cooperation with his coach Daniel Vallverdu.

“My results lately have not been what I expected. As I am not a tennis player at the beginning of his career I have to act quickly when I feel that I need a change.” Berdych said.

Tomáš is today on his way to Paris where he will be preparing for the second Grandslam of the season and he has not decided who his new coach will be as yet.
