Serena Williams and Madison Keys will face off in the final of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia after winning their semifinals in straight sets on a rain-affected Saturday in Rome.

Williams and Keys will feature in the first all-American final in the Italian capital since 1970, when Billie Jean King beat Julie Heldman.

Keys arrived in the final following an upset 7-6(5) 6-4 over third seed Garbine Muguruza, while was moved to the smaller Pietrangeli Court after rain wreaked havoc with the schedule.

It continues a dream week for the young American, who en route to her biggest career WTA final also beat No.5 seed Petra Kvitova.

She has dropped just one set this week in Rome.

Williams later on Saturday breezed past surprise semifinalist Irina-Camelia Begu to continue her impressive comeback following six weeks away from competition.

Williams, who won in Rome in both 2013 and 2014, takes a winning 2-0 head-to-head record over Keys into the final, yet has not won a title since Cincinnati in August 2015.
