Rafael Nadal will lead the Spanish team at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games opening ceremony in August.
The Beijing 2008 Olympic singles gold medallist was announced as his nation’s flag bearer this week.
I’m really proud to be Spain flag bearer in #Rio2016!!

Nadal was meant to fulfil the role at the London 2012 Olympic Games, but was forced to withdraw from the event with a knee injury.
Spanish Olympic Committee chief Alejandro Blanco said Nadal deserved the honour.
“Spanish sport had a debt to pay back to Rafael Nadal,” he said. “He has done so much, so much more than just his results.”
Former world No.1 Caroline Wozniacki has previously been announced as Denmark’s flag bearer in Rio.
