On the eve of every great tennis court comes a flurry of press and protestations of delight from the world’s best tennis players. Miami is no different, and it started now. New world No.1 Angelique Kerber was first to face the cameras, and she was quick to admit that her form isn’t great and her expectations are high.
Simona Halep (who is also struggling for form) was next:
Garbine Muguruza (who is another one not enjoying the best run of form) followed:
Dominika Cibulkova (yep, form problems) is excited:
Karolina Pliskova (who is actually playing pretty well) wants to go better than the first round:
And Svetlana Kuznetsova (who is one of the in-form players on Tour at the moment) is eyeing the win:
